The Nursing Home Ministry of COGWMC currently is ministering at Johnson's Retirement Center. COGWMC joins with a number of representatives from other churches, reaching across denominational lines. Together, the residents are taught a faith based, non denominational love of Christ in a meaningful way. We want the residents to recognize that they may be shut in, but not shut out. There are many lost souls in this setting, and souls in need of fellowship in our nursing homes and retirement centers. We seek these precious souls, before they slip out of reach.

nursing homeThe cornerstone to this ministry is the Friday Night Worship Service provided at the facility. Friday night service is a worship of Christ in song, testimony, word, and prayer. When the service is over we spend time with the residents, shaking hands, hugging necks, and telling them that we love them and that Christ loves them. We also spend time listening to the residents, providing them a shoulder and ear that cares. Every Friday Night Service is concluded with our closing son "When we all get to Heaven". It is a joy to see the residents smiling and singing the song with us. We're sure to each week thank them for allowing us to come minister to them as well as praying with them over their needs. The elderly are starved for attention and will really brighten up if you pay personal attention to them, before, during, and after the service.

Many things have taken place in the course of 11 years of service at Johnson's Retirement Center. We have witnessed many souls giving their heart to Christ, and rededications of lives, as well as even baptisms. We have also suffered the loss of many residents, but we know that death has no victory when a child of God goes home to Heaven. We also rejoice in knowing that additional ministries have evolved and spread to other nursing home facilities. It is with great joy that we do this work, side by side to spread the gospel.
